Ian pulled off a unique trip, all while staying flexible to go with the flow as we figured out what we wanted to do! 2 Nights in Nashville had us hitting Broadway going from Honky Tonk to Honky Tonk looking for good music and being worked over by wallet-inspecting bar tenders. Hitting up the east end on scooters at antique archiology and a night at Top Golf was really fun too.

Off towards Louisville took us into Kentucky with a visit to Mammoth Cave along the way. Got started right at Angel’s Envy, and worked our way across towards Michters downtown. Found a really sweet Air BNB in Simpsonville, Kentucky. Up early in the rain is when we found “Brenda’s”. Now Brenda is someone you simply have to meet to really understand what she’s about. She made us a great breakfast, with biscuits and preserves. True southern hospitality.

Off to a 10km hike in “Natural Bridge” State Park (very much in the rain). Finished in time to hit the Buffalo Trace Distillery – not my favourite burbon, but my favourite distillery. Wood shop and the heritage grounds were awesome. One more distillery on the way home the next day, dropped Big Jay then hit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville.

All up, 10 distilleries in all across two states.

“90 Miles an Hour, Half-Assed” We’re not sure exactly what it means, but coming from Brenda, it seemed profound. Well done, Ian!
