MVP |
Jason Tolton on a very sophisticated points system developed by Ian
More from our TripMaster:
- “Ghost cat” was a great line but second to “You guys must be golfers”
- Tolton wins MVP as he did win the 2 contests (out of 10 that I planned) plus he was the only person to sudden a life threatening incident which is always worth a few points
- That was a lovely sunset the second night
- The Bruce Trail is 885 km. The record to cover it all by one person is 10 days, 14 hours. Approx. 80 km a day. Our 45km in 3 days seems awfully lame in comparison
- In terms of the Stand by Me analogy, I was very disappointed in the group’s recollection of the movie. As penance, please watch the following short clip: http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi3398631705 and tell me which character is most like Tolton
- As for the concept of doing the Bruce Trail every year on my trip…. TBD. I think we might need to return to the lights of the big city…
- And lastly, there is a quote by the narrator in Stand by Me…. “I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?”I do.
What a trip! This year Ian did a fantastic job pulling together a 40km trek on the Bruce Trail starting in Tobermory. He arranged phenomenal food, great weather, and almost adequate gear! A final stay at his business partner’s family cottage topped it off nicely. Tolton didn’t die which was nice, and there were no serious injuries, except a couple of pairs of boots that got tossed the day we got back.
Great trip Ian. Well done.
